Paris!

This will be the first post on my Paris vacation – I promise to post some of weirder things later, but I thought I should at least post all the “normal, tourist” things we did.

I simply had to take a picture of this – it was the first cappucino I ordered upon arriving in Paris. This cafe was less than a half block from our hotel and we had breakfast there nearly every day. This is pure art! (Yes, it tasted good too!)

As cliche as it sounds, one of our favorite things was the Eiffel Tower – especially at night when it’s all light up – it really is quite beautiful.

The Louvre was great, but insanely busy. We did however see Mona Lisa (and her devilish smile), and several other famous pieces of art:

We also went to Notre Dame – the gargoyles are so amazing. We didn’t go up to see them close-up because that was the day when Brian got sick (fever, chills, etc. – lots of fun on vacation!). Nonetheless we still got some good shots. And NO we didn’t burst into flames when we walked into the church…though we were a bit concerned we might!

We also went to the Rodin Museum which I really loved – he has some fantastically sensual and amazing scultpures, including what is probably his most famous piece, The Thinker:

Okay, a couple of final pics for this post. Here’s me at one of the many cafes we stopped at, enjoying a cafe au lait, and here’s a dessert we ordered one night (fantastically good!)

For now my dear friends, au revoir!

Hooray!! You’re back!! I love Rodin’s work. As a sculpture lover, he is in the top two of my top 5 best sculptors of all time!

Glad you had fun and glad you had lots of ‘cafe’ time! :D

There is a picture of me that was taken once in New Orleans… certainly to end up hanging with the great masters… Only it was not titled “The Thinker.” More like “The Drinker.” Same pose though.
