Fall is my favorite season. I love when the air turns cool and the leaves start changing color. I love when I can finally pull my sweaters and boots out and wear them again (what can I say, I’m a clothes horse!)
Usually I am well aware of the leaves turning red, yellow, and orange before falling, but this year since my head and heart are wrapped up in other matters, I have barely noticed them changing color. The only thing I’ve noticed is them littering the ground, particularly my yard. Even with my small yard I am raking leaves once a week, filling a bag or two to lug to the dumpster.
While usually enamoured with autumn, this year I find myself distracted from its beauty and annoyed with the hassle this season brings. I need to remember that even with the craziness that is consuming my life right now, there is still beauty.
