It’s always great to get published – and I don’t just mean on self-run blogs such as this one. I mean by someone else. Someone who reads your work and says, “Hey, that’s pretty damn good,” and then sends you the one thing all writers crave – the Acceptance Letter. Because we receive so many of the dreaded Rejection Letters, the Acceptance Letter is all the better, accompanied by singing choirs of angels and streaming sunshine. Okay, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration, but it is still awfully nice to get a piece accepted somewhere.
My poem, Vertebrae, (you can read here,) was published in the Fall 2007 issue of Connections, which is the literary magazine run by the local community college. I’ve been fortunate enough to have had several of my poems published in this mag, yet every time it’s an honor and a thrill.
